Fake company MapleCraft Engineers posted a job opening on LinkedIn. After applying, I was “shortlisted” for the next interview stage which was a one-way video interview via hireflix. Following this portion I was advanced to the next stage of the interview for onboarding. I next received an email requesting that I book a time on the calendar for a Google meeting by an HR manager from a third party HR management company “Candid Connections Solutions Limited” (also fake I believe). I spoke with a man from South Africa and he explained a detailed job offer to me. Only the lowball salary he gave me kept me from agreeing with the offer and, I assume, completing onboarding paperwork. At no point did anyone from the company MapleCraft contact me. I discovered the published address of MapleCraft was actually the address of a different group of companies. I called one of those companies and they informed me that MapleCraft does not exist. I later received a job offer email from the fake third party HR company, candid connections solutions limited, with the exact same offer asking that I reply to confirm I accept it.

I applied for the job on linked in and then received a couple of emails about an interview. They did not show or give a google meet for the interview and within a couple days they offered me the job. I asked for the offer letter and then received it only to do research and find it was a scam.

This company seems to come out as a legit engineering firm. However, I have done quite a bit of research that I can determine that this is a scam. This company has you go through the hiring process which is a one-way Interview and then meet a onboarding specialist, however when I met the onboarding specialist it felt a bit off. Also, I have never heard from the Hiring manager through the phone, only through email. I looked on this company through LinkedIn and found out that there are no associated members with this company and only a little following. What I also found out is that they claim to be located in Houston TX however when I search up the location it shows they are located in Nigeria. In the past couple of weeks as well I have noticed that the website would go dark for a few hours and then come back online. The jobs that are claimed to be posted on their website are also not posted on LinkedIn, Indeed or any other job posting platform which I find to be weird. With all of this happening I feel like this is a very well crafted scam and definitely want to report this so other people do not fall for this and they can just stop waisting people's time. This job market is already as tough at it is and I don't want these scammers making it worse for us to find a job.
