It said that the application was $49 so of course I had no issue paying it but then when I checked my bank account, they charged me $300 which was not mentioned anywhere on the website.

The link sent after requesting information of redfin stated the pre screening had to be done before touring. I did is put my personal information (social security, previous address, current employer, and other information). Received and email and said they would contact me within 5-10 business days regarding the rental. I tried reaching out by email and phone and no one was ever available.

I found a nice home for rent on Redfin.com for a good price in Littlerock, CA. To schedule a tour you had to go to Locayt.com and fill out a prescreening application and pay a $49 fee. I got an email that my application was received and that someone would contact me in 3-5 business days. It's been over 2 weeks and I have not heard back from Locayt. I followed up with 2 voicemails. I lost $49, gave away personal information and never got to see the property.

They had both of us fill out an aplication to view a rental for $49 each. Please shut them down I don't want anybody else to fall for this. They also didnt take mastercard or AMEX so you had to use your visa.

Saw a home for rent for a great price for my MIL on Redfin, sent request for more information. Within minutes I get a text from (562) 539-2511. Asked multiple questions about the property and rental stipulations, request to see home, etc auto reply with a link to fill out a pre-application and pay money before I can see home. Asked why as I have never had to do that to see a home. Asked what their name was and what reality company they were with - replied with Adam Sun and website of www.locayt.com
Googled website and something seemed off in comparison to many other realtors site I've seen. Questioned 'Adam' about it and just kept getting links to the forms and their policies from this fake website.

Scammer is using a real rental posting from another site and placing on showmojo.com. Then asks for a "pre-screen" fee in order to schedule an appt showing.

This coming lists properties that are not yet available to be rented. They list these prices at below market rates to attract interested parties. They they require a pre screening fee in order to schedule an appointment to view the property. The properties then are adjusted up in price closer to the availability date and after they have collected money from interested parties. They do not willingly state their refund policy. They claimed it is on a case by case basis.they have hundreds of properties listed on their site. Assuming it’s about $100 per application. That’s 10K if just one person applies. If you do the math, it does not take a long time to make millions off of these listing that they do not intent to honor the price. They are preying on people who don’t know any better or think “it’s just a small fee.” It adds up. Bait and switch tactics to people who are just trying to find a place to live.

Locat is a website that allows property owners to post their listings. It also allows for these owners to require a pre-application to appeal serious applicants. Well this is now the second time l've gone Through this process. They make you wait weeks after paying and submitting their pre application only to change the photos and price of the listings the day they offer you a chance to view the actually apartment in person. It’s like they try to trick you into applying for the property hoping you won’t notice they changed the price, well I notice. They falsify information and make you wait this is the second time I’ve gone through this.

Applied for a 2bdrm apartment through Zillow.com and filled out the application for me and my husband and put all our personal information on there and paid the application fees. Tried to contact them to cancel and there is no phone number listed on their website only a form to request for someone to contact you and no one ever does. This website is a scam. Lost $100 and had to cancel my card and get a new one and now im looking into how i can remove my personal information from the internet.

Submitted a rental application for a 2 bedroom apt. Gave personal information as well as cc payment for nothing. They do not reply or respond and then I read comments on the Internet they had scam and fraudulent comments only.
