I signed up for services at Long Beach Birth Center which were supposed to cover my entire pregnancy, birth at the center, and postpartum care. I paid in full for services ($8,426) with $2000 of that amount being paid in cash. The center closed down without notice 2 months later and the owner is saying she can’t pay us back (there are 11 other women so far). She kept taking payments from us even through the week she closed and couldn’t pay her staff either.
