They called me on Friday May 19th claiming I have debt that I do not have. Told me that the local court was going to come get me and arrest me and that I would have to post bail to get out of jail. Filed a police report as soon as I found out that they were fake. Took too much money from me to allow it to happen to someone else. Always ask questions! And if it doesn’t sound right, it probably isn’t.

Collection agency pretending to be lawyers

Threatened to have me served on a case that isn't filed which isn't how courts work. Brought up old and invalid debt (15 years+) and threatened to sue me for fraud. Yelled at me for pointing out the debt is invalid and uncollectible and they are just debt collectors pretending to be a law firm. Told me to get legal representation. I did. To sue them.

I received a Voicemail from a woman stating that she had paperwork and orders to have local authorities serve me at my place of employment and home. I have not had any kind of run in with the law in YEARS! I have no outstanding debt that could warrant this as well. They even called my sister and brother. My sister was very short with her answers and when they could not get what they wanted from her, they quickly hung up on her. When they called my brother, they threatened to subpoena him too. We are not dumb people. I checked the web, obviously a scam. My brother took it upon himself to check the Court calendar, and low and behold, the case # they left was not on there.
On a side note, they used my old married name that I have not gone by in almost eight years.

The person on the phone stated they have papers from my county to serve on a fraud case and asks me to confirm my DOD SS# and address. But can't give me any information on whom the paperwork could possibly be from or who is trying to have me. I have not been in any trouble with the laws in over 21 years, so I know no case is pending on me.
