From March 14 through March 16, my attempts to follow up were ignored. On March 17, I requested a refund. The individual briefly responded, claiming there was a system outage and that I would receive a refund within 10 days. That refund was never issued, and I was blocked from further communication.
I later filed a police report and submitted a complaint to the State Bar, where I discovered the individual is not a licensed attorney. This person misrepresented their identity and offered legal services without proper credentials, leading to the loss of my payment.
I reported the incident to the payment platform and provided documentation, including a police report and a copy of the agreement, but received no resolution. I also submitted a complaint to a federal consumer agency, citing fraudulent inducement and violation of consumer protection laws.
