They have my name, dob and last four digits of social security. How can I protect myself?

the message said that this was the IRS and that this was the last contact they would be making. a lawsuit was being filed for back taxes and unless i contacted them they would go forward with the lawsuit and a warrant would be issued for my arrest, A number was left to contact them to settle the matter.
