I had message from a computerized voice; indicated that I needed to call back - I was going to be arrested.

I returned the call & a young female eastern Indian, asked me to provide my 1st & last name.

I told her my 1st name - then asked how I knew the number I am calling is actually IRS.

She then said 'you don't believe...' then not sure what she said, but she hung up the phone.

I then searched for this phone number & saw instruction to report to BBB.

Perpetrator claimed to be from the IRS. Claimed our subcontractor owed $70K in taxes, said he had two options to pay: Go to court, or pay over the phone. Upon asking numerous questions, he transferred the sub to someone else who said he owed $9K and he could pay over the phone. Sub told perp he had the money. That he had it in his pocket. The man told him to roll it up and stick it up his *** and hung up. We tried calling the 305-912-0122 and a man answered, "IRS, how can I help you?" When we asked where he was located, he hung up.

- Monroe, NC, USA

Consumer received two voicemails from someone claiming to be with the IRS. Consumer returned second phone call. She was asked for her for claim number, then asked for name, she would not provide her name, then they stated husband's name which she denied and she disconnected the call.

- Orangeville, IL, USA

I received a call on my cell phone from the first number and ignored it because I did not recognize the number. The voice mail that was left was an automated voice and they were representing themselves as those who can 'help' because "there is a warrant out for your arrest from the US Treasury Department" due to an IRS/tax issue, and that I should call. I deleted the voice mail. Later the same afternoon I got a call from the second phone number and decided to pick it up. It was the exact same automated voice message, only with the new number. I hung up. I did not listen long enough or call the numbers back to find out what exactly they wanted.

- Amarillo, TX, USA

I was called around 8 am by this number and the caller ID stated it was "Arnold Markus". I let it ring until voicemail and googled the number to see that it was a scam number. They called again 10 minutes later and I hit the ignore button, they called back immediately and again I ignored it. They ended up leaving a message, a woman who sounded foreign with a lot of background noise stated that she was from the Federal Investigation Office of the IRS and that an arrest warrant had been issued under my name and my physical address was under federal investigation. She wanted me to call her back and if I didn't in the next few hours then the case for my arrest would be given to the police station. I am assured that this is a scam and want others to know the details of what the IRS scammers are saying.

- Olive Branch, MS, USA

They left a voice message which was a recording claiming to be an officer in the criminal investigation division of the IRS and are calling because of a fraud and misconduct on my taxes which I am hiding from the federal government. Told me to call back 202-684-3345 which of course I did not. It's still on my voicemail. It sounds like a computer generated voice.
