Sent me a series of text messages (see below) with identifying information from the USPTO. Marked as Spam & Blocked on my phone but I still don't know how they got my phone number.

Hello ****, this is Daniel Morgan, one of the Legal Associates from IP Menders.

I wanted to bring to your attention that there is another applicant currently in the process of registering a trademark of your business which is "*******". It's important to note that your application has been abandoned, with serial number SN: *****. We've sent you an email with the details and an attachment showing this.

We received this information directly from the Federal Government Office (USPTO). If no objection is raised and we do not receive a response from you whether you would like to oppose and retain your trademark, the registration of the other applicant will be allowed to proceed.

I wanted to trademark a character I made, so I went through them because I didn't know any legal jargon. They quoted me $425 that I paid in full, but this past week another "representative" got in touch with me to tell me that I needed to pay $450 more to get it "fully trademarked and copyrighted" because supposedly someone else was attempting to get a similar image copyrighted. This representative asked for my debit card information over a phone call, and that was when I realized this was a scam. I emailed them to inform them that I knew what they were up to and I wanted a full refund, and they claim that I have not paid as much as I know I did and will not be refunding it. I have a zipped folder of information, but I have turned that in to the USPTO and will attempt to go through the FBI or other legal offices for that.
