My email and phone number was phished from an email account that was posing as Manu Life Bank of Canada. I was looking for a GIC to invest in and they said their rates were higher to attract clients. I talked to 2 ppl one was a younger guy and the other had a british accent. Names were Andrew Frith and Michael Kerr. They also emailed from [email protected] and another email. Sent even a "GIC certificate". Sent wire transfer to UVITEK group from Scotia and that was it. Tried calling to get update on account and number was disconnected. Made police report and antinfraud centre and will be seeing my branch manager.
