Was contacted through text about a work from home data entry job and was told to reach out on teams. I did and a series of questions were asked and I was told that I got the job however they wanted to send a check over to get the equipment but it wasn’t legitimate.

I received a text message from a Brianna stating that a company, IBIS Therapeutics, wanted to interview me for a chat representative position. I did the interview process through Microsoft Teams with someone named Leya Gabaree and received an offer letter, a background form, and a W4 to complete. I completed the forms and then was told that I would be receiving a check to get my equipment. The check came and I went and deposited it in my bank. I was then told to start sending the money to their "vendor" through Venmo or Zelle and when that didn't work, I was told to use CashApp and purchase BitCoin and transfer it, and then I would receive my equipment and start training within the next week. Looking up more information on the company, I had noticed some other similar scams as this one. I have stopped communicating with the people and trying to collect the money back into my account to send back.
