Grandparent Scam - Grandson jailed in Hawaii Reports & Reviews (1)

Sept. 15, 2016 I received a call from a person saying he was my Grandson and he was in Jail. He knew things that did not alert me. I thought I was talking to my Grandson. He told me he needed $4,000.00 for a bond, then he transferred to Captain John Rockford of Honolulu Detention Center. He explained everything in detail. He told me to go to BEST BUY and purchase I-Tune gift cards for the total amount of $4,000.00. I had to call the numbers back to him. I had his phone number. Then on Sept. 16, 2016, I had not heard from him in regards to my Grandson being released so I called him. He told me they needed an additional $2,000.00 for court fees and other related fees. I was to do the same thing, go to BEST BUY, get I-Tune gift cards for $2000.00. At 6:50 PM Capt John Rockford called and said my Grandson had been released. But, don't call any family member or talk to anyone as my Grandson wanted to tell them. My Grandson called me on Sept. 17th and none of this happened, it was a SCAM.
