I applied for jobs on career builder and indeed. Received an email for a job offer from GPT Group then they wanted me to do a five to ten second video call so I could be comfortable with who I am speaking to then we had a text interview. I thought the job was legit because they emailed me letter offer of employment and a w4! I signed letter of employment and filled out w4. So here is the major red flag they wanted to mail me a check to purchase office equipment for the position they hired me for data entry/customer service. Then claimed they could mail me a check due to the pandemic. So they wanted to email me a check then print it out and deposit it via mobile banking app. My bank verified this is a scam! Do not fall for this scam. I honestly thought this was a legitimate work from home job but this guy is a low life.
