It is Sunday, May 4, 2025 and I mistakenly went on a fraudulent website to renew my passport. The website was USpassportandvisa.org. I was charged $** to my American Express.

I have contacted American Express and disputed the charge and cancelled the card. My concern is with all the personal information that I filled out and submitted to their sight.

I typed in a lot of personal information thinking It was for renewing my passport......my passport number, dated issued, birthdate, social security number, date of birth, address, email, parents names and places of birth etc. I am concerned about identity fraud.

This website pretends to be an official website to help file a BOI. They will request money from you even though it should be free to file and then will keep charging your credit card.

There is no way to get in touch with them as the phone number sends you to a website with false contact information.

I received a text that was just a screenshot of a message from Salt Lake City telling me I have a parking ticket that needs to be paid and if I don’t pay it, there will be a fine.

Looks like an official USPS website and comes up as top choice when you do a search on 'address change'. You do NOT know HOW MUCH they are charging or that this website is NOT the USPS until you have already submitted your credit card information and they have charged you. They then tell you to send email if you want to cancel but will still charge you over $5 BUT they will not let you send them an email until you sign up and have an account online -- once you do that - there is no email confirmation that you have an account with them and when you try to log in with that account/password combination so that you can send them an email to cancel - the info is denied and you cannot access the account you just set up. Therefore you CANNOT cancel their service. There is NO phone number or other way to contact them. Websites like this should be taken DOWN. They are set up just to scam people especially those that are not tech savvy which usually means the elderly. So -- can we also get them for elder abuse practices ?
