I received a call saying that I was to receive a grant in the amount of $9200. Grant approval number is RA167. I spoke to Jessica/Jesse and then to a "manager". I was to go to Western Union and wire $280 and I would immediately get my grant and the money I sent back. Jesse had an accent.

I just wanted to report a call I got this morning, which I know is a scam. They said I qualified for $9000 in grant money, that could be sent by western union, Wal-Mart, check or debit card, or my bank. The number I was contacted from is 1-639-510-0000. I let them do their spill, and then she informed me to call the management team to process it. That number is 1-202-780-9346. I did not call of course, but they did sound legit, and even gave me a grant I.D. number. Just hoping that you can get these two numbers cancelled, so know one might get scammed. Thank you

Got a call on 2/12/ 16 around 4:30 p.m.. Person was claiming that we've been randomly selected for a free government grant of $9,200. I told him that that doesn't make any sense, so no thank you. But he went on to say that because we haven't been late on paying taxes or any criminal record that's why we were selected. When I inquired further he said they had only 3 months of history to show for us. He got frustrated with me and told me to just listen . Then he wanted me to take down an I.D. number so I could claim this grant. I told him no thank you and hung up. He called right back, and said that he called back because he wanted to tell me that I had a very lovely and nice voice, so he wanted to call me back and tell me that he would take me off the list. I told him good because I think that this is a scam. And all he said back was if you think it the scam then its a scam. So I hung up.

They called me stating that, I was going to receive a grant. First they verified all my information before they explained to me how and why I was selected. I thought it was a grant for school. After I verified my information they explained that the government choose random people that always paid the bills on time. The grant amount was 9000 dollars. I had three choices on how I wanted to receive the money, 1. Debit account, 2. Check in mail, and 3. Money gram. I choose the money gram. Next the guy told me the only thing I have to do is show them an ID at the money gram store and pay 280 dollars to receive the grant. I hung up on them and 5 seconds later I received another call from a different person saying I had been selected to receive grant money and I told her that I already had a confirmation number from the first person that called and I am not paying you a dime. Wow it got interesting after that. Still waiting on her to call with explanation as to why they are asking for money.

I was contacted by a guy who stated that he worked for the government and I had been chosen to receive $8,500 since I had not filed bankruptcy or been in trouble with the law in the last 6 months. He gave me a money activation number and then told me I had to call a phone number to get it activated and then I could go pick up my money from moneygram. When I called the number they stated that all I had to do was pay the security deposit of $275 and then I could pick up my money.

Scam and harassing calls. Always same guy. Always pretending to be a supervisor when you call back. This time his name was Steven foster with Federal Grant Department. Has called before using different numbers, blocked, unknown. Multiple times after being told to remove my name from his list. Continues talking until i say stop for like the fifth time. Then tells me he doesn't need to remove my name even tho it's the law abs then proceeds to tell me he will call back everyday. This time phone #253-617-7413. Tacoma Washington supposedly. Always a different company name but usually for Government grants. I will report this to every agency possible as this has been happening for 2 mos now. Never greet you properly with full name. Want it to stop.

Received a call saying I was selected to receive $6700 grant. That I never had to pay it back. I was given a confirmation code AP127. And to call a Peter Rouser at 917-383-2772. He thrn said I had to pay taxes on the money because it was coming from Washington. That I needed to go to Wal-Mart and send $254 money gram. And then they would send the $6700 +$254 within an hour. He said he would even stay on the phone while I did that. To prove this wasn't a scam. I hung up. I'm sure it's a scam.

- Myrtle Beach, SC, USA

received 2 phone calls telling me the us government was gonna give me free money in the amount of $7000 because I had not filed any criminal charges or bankruptcy in the last 6 months and it was free money no pay back and nothing to pay to get it. So I decided to see how far this went I already could tell it was a scam. they had my name and address, safer talking to this lady she gave me a number to her finical supervisor, they ask where you want to get the money Walmart or one other place, so I said Walmart asked me how long it would take to get there said bout 10 minutes, the he says you transfer $273 to our bank call when you get outside Walmart and you can pick up @7000 plus you will get the $273 back. Did I do this NO because they I knew it was a scam from the beginning just wanted to see how far it went they also said after I received the money the FBI would contact me , now this was suppose to be free money our government isn't gonna give no one free money. So Please don't get sucked in to this or any other scam
