Received email that I could renew my passport online. Was directed to GovAssist website. Filled out requested information and allowed charge to credit card. You are led to believe that you are renewing your passport. When packet arrived discovered that I still had to send $130.00 with application to complete process by state department. Any disclosures that you aren’t really renewing are not easy to spot. All you’re doing is paying to have some one type up the application!

This business does NOT do anything for me that I cannot do for myself with a printer and a camera. They charged me $278 to prepare a passport renewal application and then sent instructions for setting up an appointment at USPS. Once I contacted the USPS, I was directed to file a passport renewal ONLINE as this service is not available in-person and I have to upload a DIGITAL photo. Therefore, I have to provide my own photo and all my own documentation for an online renewal. The GovAssist provider did nothing other than sending a document in the mail for an in-person appointment which is an entire separate (and in my case - WRONG) process and then charged me $278 for a hard copy 2" photo that I CANNOT use for the virtual passport renewal appointment and application. What a WASTE of time and money.

It presented itself as online passport renewal. I filled out forms and paid the fee to "renew my passport". Then I received the forms in the mail to mail to the government with an additional check. So what I paid for was for them to print my passport renewal application and mail it to me, when what I thought I was getting was a passport renewal. It seemed like a government site- and I didn't realize it wasn't until I had gone through the process. They also now have a photo of me and all of my personal info.
