So I got an email from [email protected] so I already had a feeling that it didn't sound right. Not for a company that seems legit. I did my google research and the information matched with what the "interviewer" was writing. I tried to videocall them and no answer. Then they called me and only rustle was heard. I kept saying hello but no one WANTED to talk. Then they called me again and this time I picked the sound of a rooster in the distance and then the voice of a man. I thought an Elizabeth was interviewing me? you don't sound like an Elizabeth to me.. That just confirmed that something was not right. Plus I also said that I felt uncomfortable having an interview via text and this person COMPLETELY DISREGARDED MY CONCERNS. I'm so glad I found this website and similar posts with similar situations. I searched the company's website and made a "Careers inquiry" and told them what was going on. The company seems legit and it's unfortunate that these people are using their name to try and fool people.

Got the same email to contact this “Elizabeth” via Skype for interview but everything was too sketchy plus I don’t remember even applying to that company. I didn’t bother to pursue.

I am on a job hunt and I put in a plenty of applications so I first I thought it was genuine until they ask for me to Skype them or Whatsapp.

I was looking for work from home opportunities. I’m currently using 3 different sites (LinkedIn, ZipRecruiter, and FlexJobs) to do this so I don’t know which one the scammer contacted me from. In a nutshell, I was initially contacted via text by a person calling themself Mrs. Jessica Willer. The conversation is as follows:

Good day

I am Mrs Jessica willer from (Gensight Biologics.) This is to inform you that your resume which was posted online has been reviewed and approved for an online interview,Reply back with (YES I AM) if interested to proceed on.

Me: Yes I am.

JW: Gensight Biologics SA is a innovative pharmaceutical developing, manufacturing and marketing branded and non-branded generic products.

This is for Customer Service Representative/Data Entry ,The pay is for $30/hr, This is a work from home position, Let me know if you have a problem working from home...?

Me: I don't have an issue working from home. I prefer to work from home.

JW: Alright, The Interview process is Conducted via Skype/WhatsApp.. Do you have Skype/WhatsApp?

Me: I have WhatsApp

JW: Alright have Mr Hubert added up now on +1 (803) 630-8851 he is available now.

After about 30 minutes of “Mr. Hubert” interviewing me via WhatsApp, I was “approved” and given a job offer to read and email back along with the following message:

“You will be emailed your Employment Offer Letter and a HR document during your orientation and training,you are required to read, fill, sign and send back to us our copy Employment Offer Letter as soon as you are done...Okay

You will need some Data entry/Accounting software and also a time tarcker to commence your training and orientation and also you need the software to get started with work...the work of the time tracker is to calculate your hours worked since this is an online work from home

Here are the name's of the software's you will need to start working with are,Sage Simply Accounting Software, Peachtree Complete, AccountEdge Accounting Software for Windows,AccountEdge Accounting Software for Mac, Sage 50 Premium Accounting 2013 (formerly Simply Accounting), Business2Go software, Bookkeeper software, The General Ledger 9.5, Bottom Line Accounting software, Balance Sheet Basics software

The funds for the software/working materials will be provided to you by the company via check, make sure you use them as instructed for the software and i will refer you to the vendor you are to purchase them from okay?”

He wanted me to “report” to work the very next day and wanted to know what I was going to do with the check. After further digging, I was told by a county clerk in the county he said the business was supposed to be opening that there was no business by that name opening and she had never heard of it. I asked Mr. Hubert about this and he said it was opening in a completely different county than stated before and opening would be pushed back 2 months instead of 1 because of the pandemic. Again, I did my research and contacted the second county mentioned and again the clerk had no idea what I was talking about. I have not contacted him since and have tried to do reverse phone lookups. All I can get is it is a South Carolina number (Charlotte) and there isn’t a name attached to it.
