I was able to go back in my records to see that yes, I had an outpatient surgery at that time, but haven't had time to see if I made any payment to them at the time. They did not leave Galesburg until early 2022, so why didn't this get billed within those 6 months? Can this be real?
At the bottom of the invoice, it states "despite numerous attempts to contact you, your account remains unresolved. Continued failure to respond may result in your account being transferred for collection activity". I don't want to have this hurt my credit rating if valid, but I thought that Galesburg Cottage Hospital (as it was previously called) had filed bankruptcy. So are I just see one more reporting of this.
