Much of what is written in above complaints is was set off red flags for me as well. Their web site cites the companies they work with and pleanty of 'join our team' info but never any real explanation of how their company works ; no specifics. I did have an appointment and no card was given but I did call SCE and no they haven't heard of them in their energy savings programs department. SCE even gave me names of the people that do work with them in my area. Even if they are third party or middleman I didn't feel comfortable showing my bills to them and instead just said I don't receive paper bills and have to look up but on another day cause i'm busy. I got their name from the shirt they wore . I took the time to call SCE , look up their website , all which led me to here .
** note ** SCE's website has lists for income qualifications for their programs and list of appliances you might qualify for and assistance programs , plus they already have all your info .
My advice just ask for their info first and say you'll look into it and see if it's for you .
Or just wave them off :)
They were UNSOLICITED in the first place !

Joseph Escalera works for First Team Savings and said that Edison increased it's rate by 15% as of March and April of 2021 and that it would increase again by 5% of January 2022. He didnt have any evidence to support this information and just said the bill was approved already and if you want more information I have to send someone to your house to explain it all. Really? Strike One. First of all, Joseph did not have a Edison shirt and even if he did, you should ask to see an employee badge. And if they do have a shirt and employee badge, then you should ask for a phone number and ask for what department they work for and then call Edison in front of them to verify employment.

Joseph Escalera had on a First Team Savings shirt. His badge was a First Team Saving piece of paper that was laminated, not even a real badge. He said the number to the company was 888-347-5222. When I called the company the receptionist said I don't know any information, I am just a receptionist. I will have Scott call you with more information regarding the rate increase.

I called Edison and they said it was not true. Edison is required by law to send notices to consumers regarding any rate incease. If you dont recieve it by mail or email, you can google "Edison notices" and there you will find on the very first link of results the information.

https://www.sce.com/regulatory/document-library/customer-connection-notices

If you open the April and March notices, you will see a breakdown of rate increase by category, including residential.

A supervisor from First Team Savings called me back and gave me a link to a third party company giving wrong information about rate increase and tries to sell you a contract to buy solar. https://formesolar.com/southern-california-edison-bill-to-increase-in-2021/

Strike 2.

Do not trust this company, it is a scam to scare you into thinking that you will not be able to afford Electric bills because Edison is increasing its pricing. Yes, its true, that they do increase pricing, but that information is public information on Edison webpage under "Notices" and this company "Frist Team Savings" is lying about how much Edison is really increasing their pricing.

Do your research, don't trust these people that go door to door. They just want to sell you something to get a commission.

I was visited by "Art" with First Team Savings. He also disclosed that "as a result of SCE's rate increases," I would be eligible to receive home energy upgrades "at no cost." What's peculiar, is that they require a soft credit pull as part of the eligibility process. Suspicious, to say the least. Information on the company's website is scant. Moreover, "Art" could not provide me with a business card or pamphlet information. Homeowner's beware.
