Expired home warranty Reports & Reviews (2)

I received a letter from an unnamed company claiming that my "property's home warranty ... secured by West Allis Savings Bank, may be expiring or may have already expired." It further stated that I may qualify for a policy with coverage up to three years for all costs related to home repairs.

I called the number (800-933-9818) and asked specific questions: 1) What home warranty policy is the letter referring to? 2) When exactly did I purchase the initial policy? 3) How does this company know whether or not I hold a mortgage?

Of course, the man could not answer any of my questions. A couple times, I told him "This sounds like a scam!" To which he said, "No, it's not" (not convincingly) but said he'd remove me from their list.

It definitely appears to be a scam!

Recieved a letter with no contact information and no return address on the envelope. The letter talked about a home warranty secured by Nevada State Bank that may be expiring or may have alrerady expired. Upon contact with the refernced bank, they had no knowledge and is not connected to home warranties at all. I do not have a mortgage with this bank, so how are they referrencing me to a home warranty secured by Nevada State Bank. I called the number in the letter (800)933-9818 and they identified themselves as Coast to Coast Home Warranty. I gave them the Property Code Nu. which was stated on the mysterious letter and I began asking questions. I asked the male who answered the phone why there was no letterhead on the letter or envelope and why the letter referenced Nevada State Bank? I told him it looked possibly like a scam, his response was that I was trying to scam him and then he hung up. I can provide you a copy of the letter if you choose to look into this. I have received other letters of the same nature.
