SCAMMER EMAIL: [email protected]

Hi, I hope this email finds you well . I am interested in enlisting
your event planning services for a special occasion – a small
retirement event to honor one of our esteemed staff members. The date
is December 28th and the event will be held in the Salem MA area

Event: Retirement Party
Guest Count: 100 people
Budget: $20000-$30000 for the entire event decor

Also are you able to handle payments for other vendors we are working with?

We hav a venue but we need decor and flowers. I am open to your ideas.
What payment methods do you accept? Do you have quickbooks or square?
If the invoice can be paid via ACH online, that would be great.

Received this EMAIL from [email protected] wasn't sure if it was a scam

Thanks for getting back to me, The event will begin at 12pm on June
21st and I'd like the team to be seated for lunch.

Yes there we will be brief speeches and speakers but not for long. i
need about 20 chairs and tables.

Lighthouse Communications LLC is an I.T and Marketing Tech Company. It
is a company anniversary and retirement party

There is no special theme but the company colors are blue and green.
No inspiration pics.

My supervisor is in charge of booking the venue and I will have that
info for you at least 2 weeks before the event.

We have an open budget i'd like to keep everything under $10,000

Regarding payments, our accountant can process ACH transfers via
HoneyBooks or square, as previously mentioned. My boss has a preferred caterer
who is available on June 21st but requires a $2,000 deposit to secure
the date.

Would you be able to send a Honeybook invoice for $2,400? Once paid,
you could forward $2,000 to the caterer via Zelle or venmo or apple
pay. The remaining $400 would cover the 3% QuickBooks instant deposit
fee and related processing charges to ensure immediate fund
availability.

This email address contacted my business and is asking to email a check for mobile deposit. It all sounds weird and suspicious. I googled her and her email address and found this page.

I have a Candle Business and this person emailed my business email wanting to buy 120 candles for an event that honors women in tech. Everything felt odd but I gave them a quote and was told that the company accountant was sending me an e-check because that was the only way they could pay. That made me more suspicious. I took the check to the bank to have them look into it and they said it was most likely fraud. This person told me to deposit the check that day which really threw flags for me.

The scammer contacted me and requested my services in the name of an organization, saying she is an event planner. She send me an echeck, and once it cleared, she told me they canceled the event. As per our agreement, i have a 50% non refundable deposit. She told me to zelle the other 50% to [email protected], supposedly the organization accountant and zelle because it was easier for me. Then, the bank charback me the whole amount.

This email address reached out to me today to book an event for 100 people. I was fine with the request until she asked to have a check emailed to me for printing and mobile deposit. It sounded suspicious so I googled her and her email and found this site. It’s all a scam like I suspected?
