Type of a scam Employment

Roof replacement

Staff Sgt Charles needing a roof estimate for a vacant property. Sent a check for $6000 above estimate asking to hold for designer for home. I asked for ID and of course he sent a bogus ID. SEE ATTACHED. After many conflicting questions and answers he still sent a check thinking I'm actually going to deposit it. Obviously a scam. The check was written on Ulmer Auction Service from ASHLEY ND yet sent from Kasa Construction Inc from Chino CA. I will be contacting both companies to let them know that they are being used.

Sent a pair of cheap ear rings that I didn't order

I received a small package containing cheap gold ear rings that I didn't order from:

USPS First-Class Pkg
Mailed on 2/22/2023, but I received 3/31/23

USPS accepted the item in Queens NY Distribution Center on 3/29/23, so the CA shipping address makes no sense.

Label is over what appears to be a label from China to Matthew Willman, 2025 W. Lola Dr., Marion, IN 46952

I have no idea who either of these people are.

I can't find a charge on any of my accounts that I don't recognize, but then, I don't know what I'm looking for.

Has anyone else had this experience? If yes, can you tell me what to search for on my accounts?
