Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I received a package

The tracking number is 9505510257942937017825 and they sent me a check of $1,450.00 and told me to buy eBay cards but I do not deposited the check because I searched on google by the name of DM Survey and found this website I hope with the tracking number they can track it.

This scammer texted me that I was pre chosen to be one of their employees and proceeded to write that I was gonna receive a box with a check to verify Apple Store, Walmart, etc. But I decided to verify if they were a scam and I was right. I threatened them with the FBI if I received a box from them in my mailbox or if they contacted me again.

I just received a check for $2,480 without any previous communication from DM Group Survey. I did reply to their text to be a secret shopper. I thought it would be fun. I forgot about this entirely until this check arrived with a page of directions. Not only was it confusing but the directions blared SCAM. The prior complaint listed on this website was similar except for the amounts. Emails of the reports ( there were no report forms included) were to be emailed to "[email protected] with a phone number of 720)574-3431." I made a photo copy of the page and check. I wrote VOID on the check and returned it to Tressa Mower, 800 Country Place Drive, Houston, TX 77079-5528. It was supposedly sent by her in a USPS Priority envelope. Another predator.

I received a text message from D&M Group Survey asking if I wanted to be a secret shopper. I replied yes. They sent several texts stating my first check was sent, then more texts stating it was delivered (it wasn’t). I replied several times to the texts, saying “stop”, because that usually works. I did eventually receive a check fir $1980 and instructions for shopping. The instructions state to deposit the check in my bank and if I complete the assignment in 24-48 hours I will receive an extra $50 bonus. Assignment is to survey 2-3 Walgreen or Kroger, & CVS stores and purchase $1500 in American Express gift cards. It goes on to explain how much to put on each card. I am to keep $400, spend $40 at each of the 2 stores, and keep what I buy. Then I am to take pictures of the numbers on the cards, including the scratched off codes, and send the pictures to the provided email. There are some questions to answer about the stores, and they are to be emailed to the same email address. There’s no watermark on the check. It’s from JPMorgan Chase Bank. The instructions are signed by Mr. Alan Smith. Phone number (308)249-9618
