Our sign company in Lubbock, Texas was contacted by a man identifying himself as Dean Anderson, who requested a large order of 4' x 8' vinyl banners reading “TREASURE ISLAND RESORT (OPENING SOON).” He initially requested 80 banners, later reduced the order to 40, and instructed us to contact Logistics Express Company at [email protected] for an express freight quote to 520 Mokauea St., Honolulu, HI 96819. He wanted us to add the freight charge to our invoice so he could pay the entire amount by credit card. After researching the order, we found that this exact banner wording and freight arrangement closely match previously reported printing scams, and the same freight company/domain has also appeared in ScamPulse.com Scam Tracker reports. We declined the order and did not accept payment.
