Last year I open my computer to a massage that it had been infected by a virus. It had a number for me to call and since I couldn't get the massage off the screen and do anything on my computer I decided to call the number. This let me to a alleged technical support team named data service pro. They convinced me that in order to get my computer back and running , I needed to install a anti hack security, network security and update windows 10, It was going to cost me 799.00 but they would do it for 699.00. We did the transaction through the computer with a personal check. All seem okay even though I never really knew if the problem was fix or if it was ever a problem. Sometime later my computer was not working right, we took it to a computer place and they told us it have a virus. I started to think that r this computer never had the initial problem and I had been scam. We got it clean up. Now after a year I get a call from data services pro telling me that my bank account is going to be charge 699.00 for a automatic renewal of this service that I never agreed on. As i recall this charge was a one time only. When I told them that I didn't want to re new the agreement they told me I couldn't do anything about because it was an automatic renewal and that they were going to take the money out of my account. I told David that I was going to report him to bbb and the police. I hung up the phone on him and reached out to my bank and reported it and put a stop on any data service pro transaction. Im still checking for any suspicious transactions. I don't know where this company is. Everything was done through the computer

A year ago 2021 i was tricked into paying $1.999.99 to clean up mu computer braces it was locked up by Data Services Pro.. Now in July 2020 the make resistant calls making threats tk access my checking account or threaten legal court action if I do not pay an additional amount, Called 855-978-5882 and spoke to “John D. Cooper” saying that I do not was t the service and to cancel it, John made all kinds of threats -financial and legal. Would not cancel unless I would pay a cancellation fee. Data Service Pro is a ripoff. Data Service Pro
rip off calls tor three rimes a day and doesn't give up. I no longer answer telephone call from them and allow their message to go to voice mail where it is deleted.
They do not take NO FOR AN ASWER. My complaint is similar to other complaints listed on this page.

My 90 year old father was taken by Data Service Pro. He got a pop up on his computer saying that there was a virus detected and he needed to call a number to resolve it. He rebooted, but the message came back, not allowing him to get past it. He called the number and they talked him into a $1400 service plan to rid his computer of the virus that they obviously had a hand in putting on his computer. They mysteriously asked for a check for the amount that he scanned with his printer/scanner. They took over his computer and were able to rid his computer of all viruses so that he could get into it. When he contacted me about it that night, I had him contact the bank to stop payment on the check and found it doesn't work unless you cancel the entire account. He was not willing to go through the hassle to set up the nine payments he had coming directly from his account - including his social security income. He decided that it would be chalked up as a "stupid tax". Now I understand why they ask for a check - it's much more difficult to cancel than a credit card.

They called to tell me I still owed for services used. When I tried to cancel they locked my computer and claimed to send me secure money. The system "malfunctioned" and instead of sending my a refund, they remotely moved funds between 2 of my bank accounts, claiming they overpaid me and locked my bank access and computer access until I sent them their "refund". It has been wired to them and they released my accounts only then did I learn that the funds were my own and they are no longer returning any of my calls after spending an entire week calling me and restricting my ability to work.

A pop up came up when I logged into my email.. It said it was "Apple Security".. saying that my computer was infiltrated by a spyware called Trojan. there was a phone number that I called. They made it sound urgent. They told me the only way to protect myself was to purchase this 899.00 service through Data Service Pro. Unfortunately they talked me into letting them into the computer to "set up" security program. I wrote a check for 899.00 which they scanned. I have a copy of the receipt. The website they give looks legitimate. But after re-evaluating what happened I immediately put a stop on the check, called my bank security, my server and Apple ... changed every password then went to the bank and changed account numbers. Bank flagged the old account for fraud. Scammer tried to cash check but was unsuccessful, but next day tried again by changing the check number.. but because account was flagged it also did not clear. Then today, my husband took a phone call and it was from them because they mentioned the check amount and wanted to activate the service but needed to send the check again. He told them that was not true as it had a stop on it. He told them he thought they were a scam. Then I got an email a few minutes after the call saying an on-line activation for continued data security service would be happening for $449.00. Checked bank and cards and nothing had happened.
