We received a text message from Cricket Wireless about how to earn additional discounts due to the Covid situation. Next thing we realized our phone was hacked and our number was deactivated with Cricket and moved to a different carrier. We contacted the other carriers to see if we could get our number back but unfortunately we could not. We had to get another number. Once phone was transferred to another carrier our bank accounts, yahoo email, credit cards, Apple ID and Apple card were all compromised. Anytime we try to reset our email or Apple account the hacker gets notified and we are unable to change or recover our Apple ID due to the person who has our information is stopping this from their end.

Type of a scam Identity Theft

I received a phone call from my carrier, Cricket Wireless. They asked me to change my pin number. I didn't feel comfortable, so I said I'd call them back. Within 3 minutes, my phone went dead. I contacted Cricket via chat on their website, and they informed me that I had changed my carrier to AT&T. I did not change anything. Cricket assured me that they would get my phone number back.

Immediately following this, i detected that I was the victim of TOTAL IDENTITY THEFT.

HACKERS FROM inside AT&T (which is the parent company of Cricket), hacked sim card numbers and sold them. With my stolen phone number, they were able to access every one of my online accounts.

4 months later, they still hadn't notified me as to whether they ever recovered my number.

This was definitely an inside job...from Cricket.
