Claiming to be SmithFoods Reports & Reviews (1)

- Cambridge, MA, USA

The scammer sent a message through Ziprecruiter that I am invited to apply for an Executive Personal Assistant position. They had a personal email account and not a company email account and they impersonated the business of Smithfield Foods, Inc. and the former CEO, Larry Pope. They asked me a series of questions and then after I answered them, they said that my application has been accepted. They said that they would send me a sign-on bonus and costs for equipment for a work-at-home job. They asked for checking account number and routing number which I gave them. They said that I would receive the wire transfer in 3 to 5 working days. I tried to email them again and the email address does not work anymore. I contacted my bank and closed my checking account and transferred it to a new checking account.
