Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a 78-year-old senior citizen and would like to report a scam to help protect others from becoming victims. Last Wednesday, I experienced an issue related to my bank account and searched online for customer support. I found the phone number 804-870-3349, which I mistakenly believed was connected with Yahoo or Citi Bank customer services.

The person who answered instructed me to go to my bank and asked for my bank account number, claiming they needed to verify my account. Trusting their instructions, I provided the requested information. Shortly afterward, unauthorized deductions were made from my account. I was then told I had to pay $999 by credit card to resolve the issue. Believing they were legitimate representatives, I made the payment.

Later, my daughter searched the phone number online and discovered reports indicating it had been associated with scammers. That is when I realized I had been deceived by individuals impersonating legitimate customer support.

I respectfully request that the FCC and the appropriate service providers investigate this phone number and take immediate action to prevent it from being used to target other innocent people, especially senior citizens. I am submitting this report in the hope that no one else experiences the financial and emotional distress that I have suffered.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Mia Young

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am an 87-year-old woman and would like to report a scam to help protect other consumers. On Wednesday, I was having an issue with my bank account and searched online for Citi Bank customer support. I found the phone number 771-249-8378 and believed I was contacting legitimate Citi Bank support.

The person who answered instructed me to go in front of my bank and asked for my bank account number to verify my account. Trusting the caller, I provided the requested information. Shortly afterward, I noticed unauthorized deductions from my account. The caller then claimed the problem could only be resolved if I paid $999. Believing the request was legitimate, I paid the amount using my credit card.

Later, my daughter informed me that I had likely been the victim of a scam. She searched the phone number online and found reports indicating it was associated with fraudulent activity. I realized I had been deceived by someone falsely claiming to provide Citi Bank-related assistance.

I respectfully request that this complaint be investigated and that appropriate action be taken against those responsible. If this phone number is being used to impersonate financial institutions or deceive consumers, I ask that it be investigated to help prevent others—especially senior citizens—from becoming victims of similar scams.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,
Robert Davis

Received notification letter with allocated waiver mentioning that my property was "secured by Citifinancial" and I need to call about an important matter regarding my property.

I did NOT call , looked up this information on web, and clearly understood this is a scam.

These people will call you and even if you don’t answer, they will leave a message. They call saying they are from Citibank and that there has been an attempt of fraud on your account, so if you have that bank, please call your bank and see if anyone attempted to contact you, then take step to further secure your bank info.

For several days now, have been getting phone calls from 877-587-5727(destination unknown) several times each day. They occasionally leave a VM saying from Citibank and to call about your account. I tried calling today to get them to stop calling and you can only get an automated message that asks for your account number. If you don't give account number after a few tries, then it asks for your social security number.

The caller says they are from Citibank. They will ask you a question to make you say yes and then hang up.

Scammer stated that the consumer owed money on a Home Depot Credit card of $4700. Scammer said they would give the consumer a one time discount to pay off the debt for $2500.00. Consumer told them it was a scam. scammer put him on hold and came back on line and gave him his fiance DOB and SS#. Consumer again stated he thought it was a scam, then the scammer hung up.
