I applied for a loan online. On 9.3.19, I got a call from 614-500-7556, Michael Williams head of accounting, with Check n Go Corporation. He has a heavy accent, maybe Indian. He said I was eligible for a personal loan. He said my monthly payment would be $106, but first I had to get a $350 Walmart prepaid as a show of good faith. He told me not to say the card was for a business transaction. When I got back home, I gave him the security number from the back of the card. Then he asked for an additional $100 to pay for insurance. I said I gave you $350 that should be enough. He said I would get this back, that they would deposit $4050.00 directly into my bank account. I gave him my bank account. So I went to Winn Dixie and bought a $100 eBay gift card. When I got home I gave him the security number off the back. He said the funds would be available the next day. I called my bank and asked them to check my account for a pending wire transaction coming to me. They said nothing was there. Since then, I've been calling them. Yesterday they asked for $200 dollars. I said I can't do it. He told me to get it from a friend. I said I can't get it. He called this morning, and asked if I got the $200. I said no this is extortion. He replied, "Trust me, it's not extortion, it's libel". He said it would take 15 days to get the money back if I canceled the loan application. He said let me call you in the morning to see if I can lower the amount. He called again this morning asking for $200. At some point, he said he was affiliated w/Better Business Bureau. I have also reported this to Walmart.
