I was called on my phone the ID read Chase. The caller said he was from Chase Fraud investigating a possible fraudulent transaction. He asked if I made a transaction which I didn't. He said he was freezing my debit card and it would be replaced. He then offered to open an Apple Pay account so I could continue banking. He sent a text and told me to type in 6 digits, which I did. The call dropped off and I got suspicious, checked my online banking and saw several smaller ATM debits deducted totalling $1400. The debits wee made at the local Chase branch ATM. I called Chase Fraud and filed a complaint which was later denied. They said I could reopen the claim if I could supply documentation proving my whereabouts at the time of the transactions. I went to the branch and spoke with the manager who told me because I supplied my account information to the scammer my claim was denied. I only typed in 6 digits in a text. Lesson learmed.
