I saw an ad that the store Cest La Vie New York was closing because the husband passed away. They advertised as being on Bleeker St in New York. I ordered some products; The scammer then offered a discount for even more merchandise, so I placed 2 additional orders. Once I received the first order about a month later, it was obvious that they were cheap junk costume jewelry. I then cancelled the other 2 orders and asked for a refund. In the meantime, my credit card company credited me for the orders. The scammer emailed me and asked ig I would take a 30% refund, to which I declined.

Scammer poses as a jewelry store in New York City owned by a senior citizen couple making handmade jewelry that is closing and liquidating all stock; I saw the ad on Facebook. Earrings I ordered were advertised as made of 14K gold and semi-precious stones; what I received over 2 weeks later were cheap costume earrings still sealed in their mass-production cellophane bags. Fortunately, I grew suspicious the day after ordering, did some online research, confirmed the scam, and called my credit card company; my card provides fraud protection, so the card I used for the order was immediately deactivated, I was credited back the amount charged (original charge placed in dispute for fraud), and received a new credit card in a few days.

Placed the purchase and immediately received tracking. Was suspicious because it was an imported item that required customs rather than shipping from New York like advertised. But the shipping carrier misdelivered the package to the wrong address (documented as wrong through photos) and then the seller insisted that she couldn't do anything about it and that I had to file a claim, and that she wouldn't refund me or send a replacement. The shipping site clearly states that only the seller can file a claim and she continued to lie saying that she "contacted the shipping company and they delivered to the correct address" after admitting twice that it was not the correct address. I was only able to get a refund by contacting my credit card company.

Fake profile on Instagram and Facebook named C'est La Vie - New York - and Advertising posing as a similar company name to a real company and based in Iceland - via WhoIs on website - https://cestlavie-newyork.com/ - [email protected] . do not purchase through this website - it is NOT the company that they want you to think they are and their 70% discount is very enticing.

This was an ad on Instagram that takes you to a VERY real looking website saying they’re closing. It has reviews and everything. I looked them up separately and didn’t see any scam alert. Then they have a professional checkout process.
