My family and I were looking for a new Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy as we just lost our four year old Cavalier a few weeks ago and wanted to get a puppy for our current 1.5 year old cavalier at home. We looking at and communicating with different breeders when we found this site. We fell in love with a picture of one of their cavaliers and asked them about him right away. They contacted us back the next morning and told us that he was still available and that we could have him delivered from Oklahoma straight to our home through the delivery service that they work with. We thought that this opportunity was too good to pass up so we sent them $550 for the puppy through a Walmart to Walmart transfer. Once they received the money they told us that they dropped off the puppy at the delivery service and that the delivery service would contact us with the flight information. When the delivery service contacted us they told us we needed to upgrade the crate so that it was more suitable for the cold weather so that the puppy will be safer. We believed them and sent $815 through western union and were told that we would receive 95% of it back after the puppy arrived. We waited to hear back about the flight information. They contacted us hours later telling us that we also needed to pay for insurance for the puppy that would cost $1200 and that we needed to send that right away before they could send over the puppy. This is when I knew we were getting scammed and I tried looking up the name of the delivery service online but there was no website and instead, a bunch of sites on pet scamming came up. This happened as we were coming home from the pet store as my family and I along with our cavalier went to go buy new toys and supplies for our new puppy. You can imagine how crushed we were when we found all of this out. My mom sent the people that sold us the puppy an email accusing them of scamming us and they replied saying that they were angry that we thought this and that we needed to pay for the insurance for the puppy right away and that we would get our money back. There was no way that we were going to send them $1200. The delivery service then called my mom telling us we needed to pay the insurance so that they can deliver the puppy, but my mom told them that we knew they were scamming us. They continued to be persistent about the money but eventually gave up. We tried asking for the $550 back since they have a 14 day money back guarantee on their site, knowing full well that there was no chance that we would actually get our money back. They replied that they would and to just be patient, which is obviously crap. My family is now feeling crushed as we grew attached to the idea of this puppy, giving him a name and buying him toys. We’re angry that people would actually do this and hope that hey get shut down right away, so that this does not happen to anyone else.
