I received two letters, each the same letter, but one addressed too myself, and one to my daughter (she's 10). These letters were sent to say that they (capital one) have noticed that i have not been opening their emails. And if we do not log-in to 'verified.capitalone.com' then online servicing will be impacted. I was leery about these letters because 1) how did they get my daughters name, seeing how she's only a minor child, and 2) how do they know if I'm opening emails or not. So i called capital one directly, and they informed me that they did not send the letters and it's a scam. do not reply to it and do not go to the website mentioned in the letter. they contacted their fraud department, and also told me to come here to bbb.com and write a report.

"Linda" leaves me a message every day saying they need to resolve an important matter regarding my Capital One card.

When I call they answer almost immediately and ask for my full card number or my social security number.

I have never given them any information, in fact I normally let them know to take me off their list and tell them they are thieves and awful Americans, but they continually call. EVERY.DAY.

I keep receiving phone calls from the phone number 1-800-955-6600 saying they are from Capitol One and that I need to call another number 1-866-953-7906 in order to talk about some important information regarding my account. When I contacted the 1-866 number they immediately asked for my credit number and social security number, which I found odd. I ended the call and contacted Capitol One directly and found there was nothing wrong with my account and they had no knowledge of the numbers in question nor did I have any notes on my account that I had been contacted about something. I have contacted the Abuse line of Capitol One and am leaving this information for anyone else who's receiving this odd set of phone calls. I have been contacted almost every day since the first phone call.
