I was sent the email above, but I did not remember applying for this position. I called Robert, and he said that he found my resume on Indeed. He gave me a very short, 15-minute interview. Robert texted me the next day saying I got the job and I was going to be responsible for buying supplies for the new office they were opening up. He told me he would be sending me a check for $6500 and I should deposit it in my bank account to then be transferred to a "wallet" that I could use to buy supplies from there. He said he would be sending my employee agreement in the mail but I received the check before I received any contract or employment agreement. I called and asked if he could email me a copy of the agreement and he said he did not have a copy. Everything seemed a little off, so I called the bank on the check (EECU) and they told me that they could not find an account that matched the account number on the check. They later emailed me and informed me that the check was fraudulent.

After a careful consideration, I am honored to welcome you to Cannex Tech Systems to become our Office Manager (Full time/Permanent). I would like to reiterate from the previous e-mail that our company is expanding and opening a new branch office in the Downtown area. This office is where you will be stationed for work.
We will be opening the new office in weeks from now. Your required duties will be assigned before the official opening of the new branch office. Our objective at hand is for you to provide assistant as necessary in our transition. On the 28th of Dec 2020 the Branch office will be ready for business. On this day, we will go over your training and orientation.
Your starting salary is:
Bi-Weekly: $2,500.00
Annually: $65,000.00
Vacation time is paid in 3-week increments.
Benefits are included, and bonuses are paid annually.
Office hours are from 9am to 5pm, Monday-Friday.
A laptop will be provided to you along with company software ensuring effectiveness in your assigned tasks. All assigned tasks are to be reported when completed.
The Finance department will be sending a certified check/cheque to you by mail to help with obtaining office supplies and stationery. A report is needed on or before 28th of Dec 2020 of all detailed assigned tasks.
Confirmation is needed of the required details listed below to have our Finance department mail a certified check/cheque and the employment package to you:
• Full legal name for the check/cheque
• Complete mailing address (with Unit # if applicable)
• Direct cell phone number (Not landline)
