Business Imposter/Web hosting Reports & Reviews (1)

- Northridge, CA, USA

Scammer impersonates the website hosting company Namecheap. They seem to know when businesses domains are close to expiring and send the company emails that the domain will expire and to take action to continue hosting the website. The email looks nearly identical to a real Namecheap email, but upon further inspection the email address and footer of the email are suspicious. Scammer even uses the same header and logo as Namecheap. Scammer prompts you to click a link where you enter your business debit card details, the verification for Visa or Mastercard also looks legit but strangely doesn’t load once you've entered, by which point it's too late. Very easy to fall for if you're quickly doing it and not paying attention.
