I saw the job posting on Handshake for my university. I filled out the application and received a job offer email the next day without an interview. The email included three documents asking for all of my personal information and bank accounts. I did not fill any of them out. Incredibly malicious and misleading.

I was contacted through an app Handshake about a job openings, Data Entry to be precise, offering a remote role, excellent pay, and flexible schedule. Then they sent me a link for an online writing interview. I spoke to no one during the interview, and then they sent me an offer letter. With a W4 asking for all my personal information. Which I did not give, because the link for their website has no job openings or anything, it's a very sketchy website. I called the number they have a couple times and only got a robot no person ever answered the call. Please be careful and aware a lot of people are using many apps including Indeed to scam people.

I saw a job position from "Browning Manor Finance Company LP" for a Data Entry Specialist role and applied to the position. They sent a pre-screen form as the interview and I filled out basic questions based on the job description. On February 20, 2026, I received an email stating they were officially offering an employment, which was very odd since I never spoke with anyone the entire time. They provided a W-4 form and a Direct Deposit Form and told me to fill it out while providing proof of a valid ID, which felt very suspicious due to providing PII via email. When I searched for the company on Handshake again, I saw that they were marked as an inactive employer. Similar reports of this company showed up here, and it seems this scam is still continuing.

I posted my resume at caljobs.ca.gov; someone sent me an sms for new job opportunity, and they said that they find me from Caljobs.

They send me a meeting email. but meeting wasn't personal meeting, they did chat from Microsoft teams, I asked to do a video call, they stayed silent.
