A woman named Annie Brown sent me a DM on Instagram offering to pay my allowance to help pay off my debt, all she wanted in return was someone to be her friend and text her. I have been in similar situations so I saw no harm in this. I never gave any bank info and she didn't ask, which is a good sign. Her agreement was that I'd give my name and phone number. She would send me an email with a check stub and I would deposit it through my banking app. Well she sent it. It was very clearly a golden state stimulus check with my name and different date photoshopped on. I immediately blocked her account and number. She then used another phone number to send me pictures of mutilated corpses and then threatened that it was someone who she paid to kill me and my family. I blocked that number. Then got an imessage from an email account (different from the one that sent the fraudulent check) and they sent a screenshot of my profile picture and a photo of a gun and money and said they were just paid to kill me and they would also be contacting the CIA and FBI. I unblocked the woman to threaten her right back with a lawsuit and the police. She deleted her instagram and is now ignoring all messages.
