I received a job offer after an initial brief phone interview. Here is email below (I researched and phone number goes to voicemail, website has overt errors (date and on About page has wrong company name), and I found the images on the team page are stock images (I actually found this exact template for teams page with different names and it stated that it was a template).

On behalf of BLUEFIN TECHNOLOGY CONSULTING INC., I would like to offer you an official offer for the position of EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT (Full Time/Permanent).

This letter is a formal employment contract, signifying your place within the BLUEFIN TECHNOLOGY CONSULTING INC. team. We acknowledge that conventional hiring methods, like resumes and interviews, may only sometimes capture an individual's full potential, especially in the ever-evolving tech industry.

We are excited to announce the imminent opening of our new Houston, TX downtown office in two weeks. Following the inauguration, your duties will be allocated, and you will be stationed at this location. We have scheduled your orientation for March 11, 2024, followed by a two-week training period to facilitate this transition.

Your comprehensive compensation package for this role is as follows:

- Hourly: 31.25

- Bi-Weekly: 2,500

- Annually: 60,000.00

In addition, you will enjoy paid vacation time in three-week increments, along with an array of benefits and annual bonuses.

Your work arrangement will consist of three days per week working remotely from home and two days on-site. Office hours will be from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. We'll be able to provide you with a company laptop and the necessary software to help you work on and be efficient. You'll need to use this equipment and software to report completed assignments promptly.

Before the satellite office's official business begins, we would like your help overseeing the office setup by our decorating agency, including procuring office equipment, furniture, and stationery. To proceed with this, please provide the following details so that our finance department can arrange for a Check/Cheque to be mailed to you for these purposes:

- Your full legal name for the Check/Cheque

- Complete mailing address (including Unit #, if applicable)

- Direct cell phone number (not landline)

Once we receive the requested details, I will reach out to you tomorrow to address any questions and ensure a seamless transition.

I got an email on 2/23/24 title "Phone Interview Confirmation" saying based on my remarkable resume I have been chosen to advance to the next hiring round for a Hybrid Remote Executive Assistant position and they wanted to conduct a phone interview the following week on 2/26 and 2/27. I got a text message the morning of 2/26 saying I had and 15 minute interview at 11:30am. I responded asking if I could reschedule for the following day. Then got a message that my interview was now on 2/27 at 1:30. They let me know the James Robidoux, Human Resources Manager would be contacting me. On their what looked like a legitimate website, there was a picture of "James" on their team page. He called promptly at 1:30. He cut out a bit, and had an accent. Asked me to tell him about myself and then to tell him about a difficult situation I've been in at work. Didn't seem like he really listened and rushed through the questions trying to hurry to get off the phone. I said I had questions and was curious if they offer benefits. He said "yes, we're based out of Canada," but what about in California, where we don't have free health care? I asked about vacation and he said 3 weeks vacation and yearly bonuses based on performance, then quickly ended the call, which in total took about 5-6 minutes. I thought that was strange he didn't ask more questions and rushed through the 20 minute interview. The next day (2/28) I got a text message asking for 2 references, which I emailed him. The next day (2/29) I got an email, followed by a text, saying that I had gotten the job and would start on 3/11/24 with orientation, followed by a 2 week training. They requested I email with my full legal name, complete mailing address, and direct cell phone number (not landline). They said this was so their finance department can arrange for a check to be mailed to me. They said once they receive the information, they would reach out to me the following day (3/1) to address any questions. I DID NOT email them any information, but texted back asking if I could request a phone call to go over details before I agree to take the job, and asked if 3/18 would work for a start date instead. James texted me back saying he could work with that start date, and that he would call me the next day (3/1) in the morning. All of this seemed very sketchy to me so I did a bunch of research. When I googled their Canadian address, there was nothing near their company name in the building they supposedly use. I tried calling the number from their website (888) 427-9356 and it went to a voicemail with no information of who I was calling, just asked to leave a message. It is now 2:30 on 3/1, and I still have heard nothing from James, who was supposed to be calling me this morning. I clearly know this is a scam but was going to play dumb and try to get any more information out of him that I could for reporting purposes. He must have caught on that I wasn't feeling right about the entire thing.
