I was approached about a remote position at a pharmaceutical company located in Denmark. I was messaged by a "hiring manager" named Ryan Richmond. He had no phone number or email address as he messaged me on an app called telegram. He told me that the company he supposedly worked for would provide me with the money necessary to purchase everything needed for the job. When I received the check sent to me, and took it to my bank, they informed me the check was fraudulent, and even though the company was real, the check sent by the "hiring manager" was not. The hiring manager had me sign a W-4 form along with my ssn. I am concerned for my identity and need help to protect myself from this scammer. I have not responded anything further to the scammer.
