This was sent by a Hailey William from a Gmail account. After a couple of back and forth emails confirming my interest I was instructed to make a Skype account and to contact HR.BakerMckenzie, a Gloria Santona (who until last year was Counsel in the Chicago office of Baker Mckenzie)

After interviewing with "Gloria" I was informed a decision should be made in about 20 mins. I was hired with a 71%score.

Of course this was all too good to be true. She wanted me to open a new checking account with a local bank for my direct deposit, letting me know accounting would have full access to it at first. I was also instructed to buy a $50 iTunes gift card to purchase the apps for my company laptop. I was to do this to prove the "zeal" I had for the company. This was in my job offer letter.

I am filing this before letting them know I am onto their scam.

Thank you. I got an email as well. I figured it may be a scam. Not many companies are emailing people out the blue like that seeking employees.

Email told me to set up Skype and type in my code to the interviewer. After a series of questions I was told HR would let me know in 20 minutes. I got suspicious since the first email said $35/hour and the very next one said $40/hour which is too high for customer service. I went to the website to see jobs available and found no such jobs.

This company had me download three different Apps and told me that i had the job and that i need to go out and purchase my equipment but i would have to speak to someone name John Lewis for the check to be Approved i just lost my job and to have someone play around like this has to stop somewhere down the line people can cash these checks and go to jail for no reason. And after they realized i was on to them they erased all them messages.

Individuals claiming to be from BakerMckenzie law fir sent emails and letters confirming that Devon Weaver had been hired by the firm. a person impersonating Blaire Cahn conducted a Skype interview with Ms Weaver. The perpetrators promised that the firm would deliver a MacBook Pro laptop and a new iPhone for business use, and that technicians would show up at Ms Weaver's apartment to set up the business tools and install time-tracking software. The perpetrators requested a $200 gift card as a show of commitment to the company and as reimbursement to the vendors setting up the equipment.

A second individual, claiming to be David Jamieson from BakerMckenzie's HR department sent an attachment letter claiming to confirm the hiring action.

Both Blaire Cahn and David Jamieson are actually employees at BakerMckenzie, although both are partners and do not work in HR.

Both used scam emailaddesses ending with "[email protected].

To my knowledge no gift card was sent. Nor was any equipment delivered nor installed.

These scammers cleverly use names of actual bakermckenzie officers, with the slightly modified email addresses that could pass an unsuspecting victims casual and hopeful perception.

I tried to submit a complaint to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (ic3.gov); the form demanded the name of a bank involved - there was no bank, only a request for a gift card.

I'd have to mimic Maria in Jan 20, 2022 because that is EXACTLY what I experienced and received. I had the same contact and same verbiage on the chat. I was even sent an offer letter from them and a Task the next day. Gladly no bank information or social sec # was given. Phew! I had actually got really happy I had FINALLY got a job but new something about it was too good to be true.

I received an email from a certain Helen Bradley, sending an Employment consideration offering a notably high salary. Everything was too good to be true. Even stated to send out office equipments for me to get ready with the job if hired. There was an offer to proceed with the application via Telegram and Hangout. Suspiciously, everything was just via chat, and it uses Gmail, not the company's own domain.

I received an email coming from “Helen Bradley” telling me that it is about an Employment Consideration from Baker McKenzie. The hourly rate was way too high and that I will be provided with the office equipment and all that. I was asked to proceed with my interview via telegram or hang out. I was very skeptical about it, since it was too good to be true.
Employment

I got the same email from Hailey Williams and [email protected] and [email protected] I found it really strange that a company paying that much money would have a Gmail or yahoo account and not there own domain and that I was asked to Download a random app to speak to a random person. This time they are using this Telegram app.

- Monroe, NC, USA

Received an email from Hailey at baker McKenzie email address for employment. When read it said I already had the job I just had download google hangouts to continue my interview. I was to add [email protected].

Then the email was signed off by Kevin

I then looked at the bbb website and saw the already have employment fraud.

Was coerced by a representative of Bakers McKenzie for an online interview for a data entry at home position with high pay.

Representative was very pushy and stated things like "Understood" "Can you handle that?"

Representative wanted me to purchase a steam wallet gift card. I didn't go further than this. It sounded fishy and I found the same exact type of thing on ScamPulse.com scam alert.

- Bay City, MI, USA

I was contacted via email that my resume matched a job opening. I interviewed via google hangouts and had contact via email. I was to sign and return an "offer letter". I was then fedex overnight-ed a check that was to be used to purchase supplies needed to set up for the job as well as a letter telling me I needed to email them once the check was received or it would not be honored and I was to contact them via email once the check was deposited.

I googled part of the email because the salary was way to high and it was too good to be true, I didn't open anything attached to the email. Once I saw it was a scam I decided to report it , looking for employment is stressful enough add a money scam to the situation it is just wrong.
