Unbelievable Bad Service

I Requested and Paid for 95 guest to be served at noon with food delivery being at 11:30
Food Arrived at 10:15 from a Uber driver(Food safety issue is my first concern) The key is to never let your picnic food remain in the “Danger Zone” — between 40 °F and 140 °F — for more than 2 hours, or 1 hour if outdoor temperatures are above 90 °F. This is when bacteria in food can multiply rapidly, and lead to foodborne illness.
Every catering company I have ever delt with as a Event Coordinator knows this is rule #1

I never heard from my Event coordinator Marylin, the girl that delivered the food said she was delivering for the lady that cooked it, which to me sounds like you farm your jobs out. She called the office and not my cell phone with this message Hi! This is Wilma. I'm bringing you some food. I don't know where you are. I'm right here in the entrance. went to probably on 5, but they said that they didn't order any food, so I'm not sure. So I'm right here in the entrance of the park. If you can just give me a call, so I know where to go. Thanks.
Who knows how long the food was in her car?

I ordered food for 95 and got food for 60 (We had to order hot dogs from the snack bar)

There were no plates, no serving utensils, and only 40 forks. (My guest ate out of hot dog trays and spoons from the snack bar. )

I ordered ribs and got skinny porkchops. Everything was tagged in Spanish.

When the guest arrived I literally only had 15 min to serve them and make sure no one got sick.

I want to know who cooked our food and was it in a licensed facility.

You did not become a preferred Vender as I requested you to. And you agreed and told me yes. .

Such an Embarrassing and Very Stressful Situation you put me in.

You Have Tarnished My Reputation as an Event Coordinator

Please contact me today as I expect a full refund. Before I give my Honest Review, I suggest you make this right.

Tiziana Bellin contacted me when I was looking for a caterer through Bark.com. Backyard Chefs is supposedly based in FL, and they have offices here in CA. Upon agreeing on the price and menu, Tiziana emailed me a link to pay the 50%. I contacted her again at the same number we've been texting, 305-204-3404, that we needed to reschedule the church fundraising event due to heavy rains. She responded back that she will inform the logistics team. However, I am no longer receiving a response in the text after that. I called all the numbers that I saw online for Backyard Chefs, and none is working. I emailed the [email protected] found on the invoice, but it bounced. I called the number on the invoice, (754) 229-1085. Somebody answered and I asked where their offices are here in CA. She said there are many but refused to mention exactly where, which is odd. When I mentioned Tiziana, she was saying that she belonged to the something Dept. I couldn't understand her words, so I asked to spell the Dept name, and that's when she hung up on me. They have an Instagram acct but the last post was 10 years ago! They have a Facebook acct but the description is they're a printing company. I contacted them via Messenger asking that, but no reply although it was read. I was no longer feeling comfortable with this company at this point. I emailed Tiziana expressing that, and that I wish to cancel. She was saying that everything is prepared. I said the event is 2 weeks away, so nothing could've been bought yet. Again, she said she will reach out to the logistics team for the refund. I threatened that if we do not receive the refund, I will report them to the BBB. She emailed back convincing me that they are legit, and the chef, Americo, wants to have a Zoom meeting with me. She finally gave me the number of the chef, supposedly, which she wouldn't give in the beginning: (856) 490-9443, This is not even a CA number, and calling it now, it just goes to a generic voicemail, no mention of the business. I said if they are a legit business, they will honor my cancelation and refund the money, $654. I tried reaching again via email, but Tiziana is no longer responding. After much follow up, she responded that they already bought the supplies and will only refund 10%. If they have been doing caterings, they should already have the supplies, like serving trays. Sounds really shady! I asked why they want to keep the money when the services have not been provided. They are not honoring the customer’s right to cancel.

We will report this to the credit card company as a fraudulent business.

The company uses several different contacts and presents itself as a legitimate local business with several locations. The website is impressive, the customer service rep is courteous. However, after the deposit (half of the total bill) there is a demand for the remaining balance before the food order is delivered. Only after threatening to cancel the order did they back off. The food arrived 2 hours late. It was cold and not even the right quantity or the specific items requested. It arrived with a door dash type delivery, not affiliated with the catering company. I do fear that my credit card will be compromised and I hope to prevent that. They even sent the wrong invoice for the remaining balance with a different customer's name and a different, more expensive order. When I brought this to their attention, I received a reply with threatening language.
