Calendly is a legit calendaring host therefore, I did not think anything of it and went in to select time slot. After selecting my option, I received an email from Zoom with a note advising me that I will meeting with co-founder Mark. I sent an email and received a bounce back. RED FLAG! I started conducting search on career applicants-nothing found. I then went to the Zoom confirmation and found that the original host is: Backbone Business Solution. Did more digging and found this is an employment scam. Please beware. I went and cancelled the Zoom meeting and proceeded to come on here to warn others. It is a shame and dissapoiting that these scammers take away our time from those in search of a job. Feeding themselves from the vulnerable. I have provided photos below in support and have redacted my personal information and credentials due to privacy reasons. I hope this helps others in the same situation.

Employment scam. False remote work opportunity. Typical web conference scheduling.

I applied for a fully remote virtual executive assistant position with San Francisco based "Backbone Business Solutions" via LinkedIn. Instead I was offered a "higher position" as a travel agent. My interview turned out to be a webinar about the position, during which the "founder" introduced the business as "SVH Tours & Travel" in Los Angeles by showing me an image of a building with the business name badly photoshopped onto the front of it. The founder then showed a website with the job description listed, but the url listed BWJ Agents as the business name. Since this was really hinky, I did an internet search that led to the ScamPulse.com Scam Tracker post about both SVH & BWJ offering travel agent positions and then expecting up front payment for "training". I left the presentation before the "founder" could ask me for money or personal information, but if I hadn't looked this information up while the presentation was droning on, I wouldn't have learned how far reaching this scam is.

Applied for a job via LinkedIn. A guy named Mark reached out. Sent a email saying the original spot was filled but he had another opening, joined a zoom call with 214 people. Went through a whole spill about his travel agency. I stay for 30 mins and he just kept going on and on. This is a scam for sure. Please do not waste your time. I had originally applied for an administrative remote position.

Applied for a job in LinkedIn and received an email the next day asking to schedule a meeting with the "co-founder". There was no mention of which position I would be discussing about and the meeting would be for 1 hour. Did some research and it is a scam. Their website had some basic information and only one page.

Applied for Executive Assistant job posting for high salary. Received a email that the position was no longer available but they had another job that fit my requirements. Made the appointment and this was not a interview, it was a webinar where none of the 140 ppl could speak and he tried to get us to sell travel, for the likes of Jeff Besos and other wealthy companies. No one needed 1 ounce of experience however we did need to get certified which normally takes $6k and 6 months, BUT, if all we had to do is give him $60 today and we would become certified under him i guess. 140pp x $60 = $8,400 for a 1 our webinar. To my knowledge, he does these all day every day judging by his calendar. He is son or grandson of the founder of SVH Travel which also has many negative reviews of being a pyramid scheme.

False job postings, pyarmid scheme webinars. They post a job listing on LinkedIn and Indeed for a remote Administrative Assistant and after you apply they send an email saying:

"We hope you’re doing well. While the position you applied for has already been filled, after reviewing your resume and past work experience, we’re excited to share that we believe you’d be a great fit for another remote position we currently have available.

We’d love for you to schedule a meeting with our founder to discuss the role, compensation, and learn more about our company.

You can choose a time slot here: https://calendly.com/d/cpp4-d4h-7k3

Important: After scheduling your meeting, please reply to this email to confirm. Our team is looking forward to connecting with you and discussing this exciting opportunity further!

Best regards,

Applied to job listing on LinkedIn. Received response (from "Mark", supposedly the co-founder) that the position app[lied for was filled but that they would like to discuss another position within the company. The day of the interview, the company's profile and linked employees have all but disappeared, and further research into the company reveals a very basic website and little other digital footprint (other than a few reports of scam attempts here on BBB).

- Abilene, TX, USA • Jan 14, 2025

this business is listing job ads luring people in to apply and then stating the position was filled but they're offering another position. They then have you pick a meeting

time to discuss the position, but it is actually a traveling agent pyramid scam with 50-100 other victims in the meeting. theer website is a fake front

I applied for a virtual administrative /Office assistant role on LinkedIn under the guise of Backbone Business Solutions and received an email prompting me to register for a webinar about the company and the email address that the invitation came from was not a matching address to the company I applied with. I utilized the Easy Apply function within LinkedIn and so that required submitting my resume, which of course has my address and email address within it. Luckily they did not ask me about my social security number. Once I hopped on the "webinar" and saw it had nothing to do with the original business name I just ended my connection to the "webinar" which was a video about being a travel agent. I have seen other scams similar to this reported under the business name of SVH Travel. The header on the video was Book with Jacob. Once I saw that i promptly just left the "webinar".

Same experience as the one already explained. Advertised on LinkedIn at Backbone Business Solutions looking for a remote Admin Asst. I applied, was immediately sent an email from “Edwin” stating I need to go to a webinar first. Attended webinar, just some guy going on and on about a travel booking job through SVH and how great it was. It sounded exactly like a pyramid scheme so I ended the webinar early and looked up SVH Travel, found this site, read the review and knew it was the same “company”. Bait and switch pyramid scheme bs.
