some att agent claims they were going to take long distance charges of my father's phone.

- Spring, TX, USA

Received a call from a fake att checking their customer service, would you refer business and the asked for passcode and would send a credit to your att account for 20 for taking this survey. Upon getting your passcode, they lock up your telephone number several hours later and you have no service.

I received an email from someone saying they were with AT&T. They wanted me to update my account information.

phony but real looking message from "ATT" asking for last four digits of your social security to update the passcode of the account. ATT never asks for those numbers.

Have received DOZENS of calls from callers "claiming to be AT&T", saying if we don't change over to their new DSL service by February 20th, then our home AT&T service will be cancelled. The caller claims that "AT&T" has sent numerous letters to our address explaining the details. (I haven't received any of these letters.) I never respond to these solicitations over the phone, so each time, I ask the caller to send a copy of the letter with all of the details. They never can. They claim that I have to call AT&T's Customer Service to get a copy of the letter for details. Today, I called the official Customer Service area for the legitimate AT&T company. They said this was a scam. The official AT&T company is not forcing customers nor would they ever force customers to change over to another type of line; otherwise their DSL/other features will be cancelled. Customer Service assured me they would never do this to customers. If you get this call, report it immediately.
