- Toledo, OH, USA

I received a call from AT&T customer service number, 800-288-2020. I answered because I recognized the number. The person stated AT&T was running a special promotion in partnership with amazon. My AT&T uverse bill would be lowered to $89 per month for 24 months if I made a one time payment of $360 today by 6pm. The $360 would be applied against the 1st 4 months of service & I would not have to make a monthly payment until the fifth month. I would also receive a $150 gift card from AT&T. In order to receive the gift card, I needed to purchase an amazon gift card for $360 to pay the one time payment to AT&T. I was then given a promotion code & was instructed to call 888-252-5857. I was told I would need to provide the promotion code & claim code off the back of the amazon gift card. Upon hanging up, l located my bill & called AT&T directly to check the validity of this promotion. AT&T stated the caller was a scammer.

Received an "AT&T Wireless Service" phone call, and a woman with a heavy Asian accent claimed to offer a $99 rebate to me for being a long time ATT customer, but needed my name and passcode to do so.

I have received a couple text messages randomly from 746-118-88 saying "AT&T Free Message: Your temporary PIN is 638171 or the other said 172246. However neither myself or anyone on my AT&T account have requested a temporary PIN. So I called AT&T and I was told that it is a Phishing scam and not to click anything, to block the number and to report it here. So that is what I did.

- Edgewater, FL, USA

Scammer calls claiming to be AT&T with a promotion to reduce my monthly senior bill for 2 years if I purchase and send a $360.00 Amazon gift card to said claim code/phone number given by AT&T scammer.

- Hazel Park, MI, USA

The female caller stated that I have a $99 rebate on my AT&T account. I am not the primary account holder nor do we have any rebates available at this time. This was clearly a scam.

I'm a victim of the phone porting identity theft. Someone stole my phone number so my SIM card in my cell phone is essentially dead. With my cell phone number, they were able to change my password for my email account (via text verification). So far, that seems to be the extent of the damage as I immediately changed my passwords for all my accounts associated with that email account (including removing the phone number from my accounts).

A supposedly at&t customer service person call me about my internet service. They were talking about giving me back a refund of $200.00, because they were disconnecting a service that they no longer provide to at&t customer. I received several calls from that specific at&t number which is 1-800-288-2020. In which it is the actual number of at&t when dealing with your internet service. They got access to my laptop trying to get my online banking account information. I had all my information cancelled at the back. They told me at the end that I was being hacked!!! So therefore, I contacted at&t to let them know that hackers was using their phone number to scam individuals. I had no luck with that. So I decided to contact ScamPulse.com with my situation.
