Called to activate my Amazon Prime Video on new TV. Was connected to a person named Travis who said he worked for Amazon Prime. He activated the account on the new TV, but then said it looks like someone located in AZ was using my Amazon account and fraud activity was noted. He then told me to log into several stores and Zip card account and purchase gift cards to help "tract" the hacker. I questioned that since I have not had any unusual activity on the Amazon account. I told him I had to contact Amazon and my bank but he said not to do that they wouldn't be able to tract the hacker. I was to send the gift cards and once they identified the hacker the monies would be refunded. Since he was able to activate the account, I felt I was dealing with a legitimate Amazon Prime employee, multiple calls and follow-up instructing how to order the cards. When I truly realized this was a scam the number provided was no longer being answered no texts were returned.
