Type of a scam Employment

First, I was contacted through text. I was told by "Curtis Johnson" who postured to be from Allied Global Marketing, that my resume was approved. I was told to contact "James Bloomfield" on signal. I was given "James Bloomfield's" number and, an interview code. A brief interview was conducted over text on signal. I was told I was approved for the job. I was sent an offer letter from [email protected]. The name on the email was Jeff Barrett. I signed the offer letter and, emailed it back. I was told that a check would be mailed to me in order to purchase my working materials. But, the materials were to be purchased from a specific vendor for "tax purposes". From start to finish it was a scam. When I asked to speak with HR or, an official representative I was denied. I also tried to contact Allied Global Marketing directly but, they were unresponsive. A lot of the contact information Allied Global Marketing has listed is invalid and, doesn't work. Both emails on their website don't work. Their phone number doesn't work. They're unresponsive on social media when sent messages. I believe due to Allied Global Marketing's terrible communication and, professionalism it makes it easy for scammers to masquerade as them. They are such an unresponsive/unprofessional company that it makes it seem as though maybe this isn't a scam. But, it clearly is. I was sent a check from Condo Welding Depot Inc DBA Condo Electric Services at 2950 W 84th St Unit #1-2 Hialeah, FL 33018 (information on the check). The mail itself was sent from 31 County Rd 59 Phoenix, NY 13135. Overall, this was a scam from start to finish. With no consistent communication, professionalism or, address.
