This person put an ad on Craigslist to sell Maltese puppies and almost had me sold. Beware of this fraud. Luckily I have not sent her any of my information but this is what she sent in her emails.

“ Thanks for the interest in regards to the puppies we have for adoption. There is 1 female (Lola) and 1 male (Briny) Maltese puppies. They are brothers and sisters of Maltese puppies that's why they look identical. They are 12 weeks old, vet checked, and will come with all papers needed. The puppies are very playful and are all of the absolute temperament as they also love playing with kids and other household animals. Attached to this mail is a video and pics of the puppies. We are giving the pups out for adoption because they belonged to my late son who was a breeder but he just past away after a long-term cancer thus we can't keep all of them as our home pets but we'll keep their parents so we had to relocate to his home to give these puppies away and some property. I will be very willing to give you these pups if you can promise me never to sell them because they have been like kids to him.NB, THERE IS A SMALL RE-HOMING FEE, also do get back to me with the answers to our question below so we can have an idea of where our puppies will be going to.

*where precisely are you located?

*Which of the puppies are you looking at, what sex?

*What is your phone number?

*Have you owned a pet before?

*Do you have a vet doctor?

*Are you a breeder?

*Give me a Brief Description of your Environment?

We are sorry if there are too many questions, we just want to make sure either of these babies doesn't end up in the wrong hands. Hope you understand.”

“ Thanks for getting back to us. Reading about how ready you are to welcome a new puppy really got me super impressed and I can say i will happily be letting you re-home a puppy from us. We just relocated a few days ago to California where our late son lived to give out some of his belongings. My husband and I have decided to give out these puppies to someone who is willing and ready to take very good care of them, we are happy you are willing to do so for Lola the female. They are 12 weeks old almost completely housebroken, all we need from you is your love for the baby. We will love to meet with you so you can pick up in person, you are not in our area and we are aware it's a distance ride by car we don't know if you will make up the ride come to pick up tomorrow.

More details on her personality which you need to know very well.

-she has charming eyes

-she eats 2 times a day

-she is potty trained

-she is socialized with kids and other household pets, especially Dogs.

-she likes to keep herself away from the crowd but is also socialized.

-she feels shy when carried.

-she also likes Licking.

Better still if you can't make it up, my husband has accepted to make arrangements for Lola to be registered with a reliable pet's transportation company here in California and be delivered to your city and you could pick up at your local airport or home-delivered if that’s okay. There is a re-homing fee of $350 for each puppy to ensure a good home. More we will need updates of monthly photos to know her progress.

IF YOU CAN PROMISE US THAT...”

“ We hope Lola will be going to a great home because my main priority is to get her the best place where she will find peace, love, and attention. I will send the baby alongside a hand booklet to enable you to know the best food for her. It will cost you $100 for delivery and you will have her transported right at your doorsteps, included with all the needed facilities so the total cost plus the re-homing fee will be $450. We take payment with Zelle but before going to that i would like you to give me your delivery details in this order that will be needed to get her home.

Your full name................

Full home Address.............

State/City....................

Postal/zip code................

Contact numbers................

The nearest airport to your location.......

We will start necessary arrangements and get everything together including her toys, crate, and other accessories with paperwork and she will also be coming with a booklet regarding her shots and diet. You will have all the delivery details and tracking number status schedule sent to you in which you will use in tracking the puppy till she arrives at your local airport. Please make sure everyone in your home is aware and ready to receive a new family member. We can get everything works out today and have Lola shipped out tomorrow in the morning and being delivered later in the day.”

This is when it sounded too good to be true. I looked her up on ScamPulse.com and sure enough she popped up and tried this same tactic on someone else with German shepherds.

Do not fall for it.

Found an ad on Craigslist for pitbull puppies. Reached out and received an email stating that she just lost her son to cancer and she and her husband where trying to re-home these last couple of pitbull puppies. She asked me a bunch of questions about our home life. I answered all her questions, because we are more than ready to welcome a new puppy to our home. She told me that the rehoming fee was $350 plus $100 for transportation right to my door. After we sent the money through zelle, we received tracking info from Continental Delivery Services Trans Logistics. We were told that the pup was too young to fly in a regular crate, that we needed to rent an air conditioning crate for $920. We would be refunded $900. It made sense to me because the pup was such a little guy. Then, we were told that we needed to pay $1200 for insurance and it would be refunded as soon as the pup showed up at our door safe. Then, the transportation company needed another $1800 because North Carolina would not let the pup in the state without a certain vaccine and a permit. Because it was a state asking for this and not the company, they were going to refund it to us. It took us a couple of days to come up with this money so we were charged $100 for care of the pup. We were told that if we didn't pay for the vaccine and stuff then the pup would have to be quarantined for 2 months and we would be charged with abandonment and animal abuse. After all of those refundable fees were paid we received a refund certificate stating that we would get all the money back except $120. We signed it and sent it back like asked. The amount of refund on the certificate was $1720 more than we had paid the company. We did not notice it until the company brought it to our attention. They couldn't fix it on their end because if they tried to then their computer system would red flag fraud. So, in order to make all the paperwork correct, we needed to give them the $1720 to make the certificate correct. So our total refund was supposed to be $5640. We paid the last bit of money and we're told that the pup would be at our house by noon. Well, it's a day later and no pitbull puppy. I'm telling you, we really thought that all of this was on the up and up. That might make us stupid or gullible, but even after rereading all the emails and text messages it still sounds light.

After googling her name I found all these complaints about her on scam pulse. It is so sad for so many people. She is definitely elevating the emotional game. Trying to act like she cares where these puppies go and there are no puppies. I hope they are stopped soon. Pure evil.

She also sent me pictures. One of a Maltese puppy named Briney and of the other puppy named Lola. Same names of the Dachshunds I read about in a previous report.

Oddly, she also sent a photo of a home that had a backyard fence. As a purchaser why do I care what her dead son's house I am praying she is not using those pictures to obtain other puppies to "oversell"

Do not engage with these people.

I just received this email:

So, the dogs have magically converted from being Daschunds to being Maltese... and before that, they were GSDs! Wow!

I responded to her ad, she sent me the response I have cut and paste, above, and then she responded to me saying they were in Texas and if I couldn't drive there the next day (I was responding from Pittsburgh, PA's Craigslist) they had things set up with a transport company. And they increased the rehoming fee from the $200 mentioned in the Craigslist post to $350. Not to mention that only one pup was mention in the CL ad, and then there were... two! More miracles!

I'll be posting this experience to my local CL, flagging the original post and reporting to the PA Attorney General's Office. Since it's online, I'll try to figure out how to report to the U.S. Attorney general, as well.

To the individual who was cruelly robbed of $700, do not be hard on yourself. "Alicia" described the situation convincingly. Her answer to my email where she raised the rehoming fee also included information about the pup's physical characteristics and personality. Alicia has some good scamming skills. Some might say that you should have known better and figured it out before you parted with money... and, of course, you're much more likely to catch on to a scam like this if you're ever enticed by one in the future. But, in the end, you would not have lost a penny if Alicia hadn't decided to pull a fraud on you and who knows how many others. I'm glad you posted about your experience here, because it will save other people from Alicia and others who are pulling similar scams.

On 8/27/20, Alicia Jacobson listed on Craigslist "German Shepherd Puppies for Adoption" which had pictures and videos of the uppies. She started a story that she and her husband were rehoming the puppies due to their son passing away from cancer. He was a breeder and that they were finding homes for the puppies with a small rehoming fee. They asked a lot of questions on why you wanted the puppy and with the promise you would not breed the puppy. I was totally honest and how I had been wanting a puppy since I had lost my German Shepherd to cancer in 2012. I was totally snowed and have been kicking myself since then. They asked me which puppy would I like from the three listed. They sounded legitimate. I had set up to meet with them in Dallas and they sent me the address then they cancelled as she was concerned with the Coronavirus that it wouldn't be safe to get together. She said she would get the puppy to the vet and have him transported to my home. The rehoming fee was $300 with $100 to for the transportation so I needed to pay them via CashApp which was paid to her husband NateRoy ($nate2078). She contacted me that he was set up be transported and sent me the tracking number to track my puppy while he was being transported. She said they would contact me via email. I received an email from United Air Global Logistics on 8/28/20 which looked legitimate. The Tracking Link was unitedairglobal.com with the Tracking code. They were asking for $920 for a special crate to transport the puppy.that it was simply a deposit and refundable upon delivery. I emailed Alicia Jacobson and she said the transport company was legitimate out of Dallas, Texas. So on 8/29/20, I called them at (469) 713-6057 telling them I did not have that kind of money and let me know where the puppy was and I would drive to Dallas to get him! They came up with an lower amount of $300 for a less expensive crate. They wanted me to pay them to a Deonte Smith via CashApp but It wouldn't work so they told me to pay to Andrew Williams via Zelle ([email protected]). They seemed legitimate and the website looked real with the United logo and so I got fooled. I kept track on the website checking the status of my puppy and it said awaiting takeoff that was late in the evening with expected arrival at 6:00 am at San Antonio International Airport. on Sunday, 8/30/20, it had the same status and then updated to deposit paid for delivery. I waited all day and left numerous messages, emails and voicemails and nothing. On Monday, it was asking for an additional deposit and that's when the flags went up. I started to search for the address of Alicia Jacobson, the transport company on website, the staff listed trying to contact them and nothing. I realized I had been scammed and lost $700 not to mention the emotional toll it took on me emotionally. I had bought a dog kennel, bowls, toys, food you name it! All getting ready for my new GSD puppy only to find out it was all a lie! I was heartbroken and lost my money at the same time. These people are vicious and cruel! I want them found so that they don't do this to anyone else!
