AES Company Reports & Reviews (14)

Initially, I was contacted on 2 separate occasions by 2 separate people. One of the phone numbers was a TextNow (free phone call app) number. I was told they'd come across my resume on Indeed.com (which is public). Unfortunately, I wasn't quick enough to catch on to the possibility that is a scam, and now they have vital information such as my email, address, graduation year, signature (which can be forged), and phone number. I had a feeling this might be a scam because I cannot find the person I am supposedly speaking with anywhere on Linkedin, and I don't remember having applied for a position with AES Corporation. But of course, I am in desperate need of a second income, and the salary they proposed was generous. This role promises a pretty hefty salary and flexible working hours. I was intrigued, but as I continued to converse with this person, I became suspicious. They've now sent me a cashier's check to deposit for "working materials", which is strange for a corporation. They now want me to deposit said check into my bank account, and forward the email confirmation to them. There is a clear urgency in the communication as well. They are using a real AES Corp. address, but I realized that any address of the headquarters of a major corporation wouldn't be just a P.O. Box. I began to ask questions so that I could be on the lookout for any strange answers. *Please note within screenshots, that by the end of the conversation with "Mr. Wilson", I had deduced this was a scam, started researching, and compiled this message* I have found that this is a very elaborate scam that has been used to take advantage of other job seekers who might be desperate in the current economic crisis and seeking immediate employment.
But now that they have my name, and a bank I use, I am fearful that my identity could be stolen, or something of that nature.
Included in the screenshots are the 2 numbers I was initially contacted from, an email from the supposed accounting guy "Danny Tree", the cashier's checks he sent, and the entire conversation with "Mr. Don S. Wilson".
I'm actually a little embarrassed they had me going for this long.

They tried to scam me - strung them along for a while.

Here's the full text - may not be in the correct order.

I had the same issue but they said to download zoom which is a credible app. They only used text and reassured that it was a “real” job. I did the same as some and looked up the phone number and email. If “Catfish” has taught me anything. It’s to be skeptical about offers that are too good to be true please don’t get scammed. Now I have to contact my bank to ensure I’m not going to lose any money I don’t already have.

Very similar experience with a Gregory Stevens. Smh!

I got the same information but in a text message. It was strange as
1. I never applied
2. They mentioned position as 'Strategy Director / Administrator'. To me, these are drastically different positions
3. My experience is not at all in line with a strategy director position in a power firm (I work in Life Sciences).
Thankfully, I checked this thread. This is a really ugly scam. Someone may assume this to be a real offer and end up losing not just all his savings but also his current job. Really [censored]ty of scammers to try this during such a time.

Well this scam is very sophisticated! The deceitful scammers set up what seems to be a legitimate website with all the bells and whistles. They prey upon job seekers and will then deliver various "on-boarding documents". They also lure you in with somewhat lucrative monthly pay ($5K/month). I became suspicious when they started focusing in on my personal bank account information, i.e. "is your account balance negative?", "what is your maximum daily withdrawal limit" and "verify your routing number and account number", etc. After researching this ploy and contacting the real AES Company, I discovered this entire scheme is a very well-designed scam. PLEASE BEWARE!

Received the same emails from this company and did a lot of research before I actually turned over anything important. Led me here to this, glad I saw these messages before I handed over sensitive information. My uncle really saved my butt on this one. Sorry to all that have been taken by this company, it’s horrible to take advantage of people especially in crises times like we’re having currently.

I had applied to a manager position to a oil and gas company and had begun training with this company and said that I would get direct deposit money into my account for my pay and now I’m facing with my bank account being closed and fraud claims because I thought I was working for a real company but I was actually being used and scammed by them

I received the same email mentioned. I went ahead and created account just to see and look for more info. I found only emails from the supervisor Lisa Jones that contain company contract, and other emails that asks for emergency contact, address and then there's a page that asks for all your sensitive info. Like social security. It was alarming, they didn't do even an interview and they are already asking for that. And when I requested an interview they said it's home based vacancy! Just that.
They have a fake website and when I called the number they had there, it went to voice mail. http://aes-comp.com

Even the location you go to google maps and you find it's in middle of stores and banks! Here's a screenshot to their intranet portal which I got denied immediately after I replied I will pass on.

They will say your application is pre-approved. Then all communication is over email. They ask that you register in a secure portal. Then they will ask you to upload important crucial info like your ID banking information ect.

BEWARE: AES COMPANYS

I received an employment offer from a company I never applied to, AES Company. I did a ScamPulse.com search and their name does not appear. When I asked for a link to their website to review information about the company, none was given. When I asked what the company was about to see if I am even a fit for this position, I received the following email, again, no phone number or website link for me to review.

Anyone googling the company name will possibly notice a company that fits this description and can easily be fooled; however, the difference between the two would be the word Corporation versus Company. I was asked to give detailed information. Had they receive my resume, they would have this information on hand. According to BBB, no such company exists.
