Received a letter claiming to be from Regions Bank’s Home Warranty Division. In small print at the bottom it says the company is actually “Superior Mortgage Company” and that the warranty is administered by “Warranty Global Group.” It claims a home warranty is expiring and action must be taken to prevent a lapse in coverage, when no such coverage ever existed.

Claimed that our home warranty will be expiring at a certain date, they used our Lender Information to try to target us. Gave us a random customer ID as well. Had a note at the bottom saying that over time, the amount we would have to spend on our home repairs and maintenance would increase. Then said at the very bottom of the letter “Not all consumers have previous coverage. We are not affiliated with your current mortgage holder.”

I received a letter in the mail saying this is my “Final Notice” and “Response To This Notice Requested”. It used the Freedom Mortgage name, which is the name of my mortgage company. It told me to call a number to “avoid any unnecessary delays in your coverage”. It further stated, “This notice is to inform you that the property’s home warranty… may be expiring or may have already expired.” It continued, “Please call immediately as this will be our final attempt to notify you about activating your home warranty.” At the end of the letter it threatened, “We reserve the right to revoke your eligibility for service coverage after the expiration date”. The letter was signed by “George W*****” who is a “Program Director” with a number of ###-###-####. There is no return address on the letter. It makes it appear as if it’s from Freedom Mortgage, but it’s not. It seems to be a scam.

Letter claimed my Home warranty was expiring ND i NEEDED TO CALL THE 877 NUMBER TO RENEW

- New Iberia, LA, USA

he was offering to insure home and appliances and mentioned my bank and said he was with them. Told me if I did not pay, he would lose his license and he is a single father with 2 children and needed his job. Was very pushy for credit card number even though I told him I did not have it.

Received a letter claiming to be from the home warranty department. It said that my home warranty was going to expire on 7/25/2023. The letter claimed to represent Nationstar mortgage company. It said that I was being given a FINAL NOTICE and I needed to call 877-671-1027. The letter also included a "registration fee voucher" for $199.00. Luckily I decided to call my REAL mortgage company and found out that the letter was not from them.

Received mail addressed to my full name and legal address stating it was a FINAL NOTICE dated 6-29-2023. References Record ID SHP7724268. The mailing has an attached Voucher payable to me for $199.00 that says 'Expire Date 7-16-2023'. At the bottom is a notice that states:

'Not all consumers have previous coverage. We are not affiliated with your current mortgage holder. THIS IS NOT A CHECK.'

The letter is to my deceased dad of over 12 years ago to my home address which he never lived at. There is no business name, address or web site listed, just a phone number. They claim my home warranty has expired - I never had a home warranty. They are including a free $199 voucher that is in the form of a check which it is clearly not as there is no account number or routing number on the document.

Wants signature on voucher

I called to find out what the warranty was that the letter claimed was about to expire. The person I talked to was unwilling to send me a copy of the supposed warranty. He said I bought it in October 2017 when I purchased my house. Good for 5 years!!?? Not likely.
