A family member was called by this number and was told fraudulent purchases were being made out of state using her account. This number represented itself as Chase Bank and transferred the family member to a restricted number claiming to be someone with the FDIC. This false FDIC representative then instructed that a large sum of cash needed to be transferred to a "safe account" and gave account and routing information. She also told the family member to not tell anyone at the bank why the transfer was being made. Unfortunately, the transfer was completed and the family member called me to tell me what happened. Do not ever let a stranger tell you to lie to your bank.
