Unknown individuals are calling cell phone numbers and advising that Pepco Electric Company is about to cut off electricity at there residences. The number on the caller ID was actually Pepco's number. The scammers figured out a way to camouflage their real number. The unknown individual gave me a 1800 number that is listed on this form to call and settle my account. Of course, my husband called Pepco and they said it was a scam. The individual called me back to see if I had called the bogus number to make a payment. I told him that I was aware this was a scam and not to call my number again. I also called the 1800 number several times to let them know that I was aware of what they were doing and gave them some "choice words" !!! I wanted so bad to put this experience on Facebook live but I was working when the incident took place. During all of the calls, the individuals act like that were from India. But on one specific call, one individual cussed me out and called me a "B*&^%$#@#"!! I guess was able to get him to come out of character and he sounded like he could have to been from my neighborhood. One another call, an individual tried to act like they had an accent but told me they were working out of a location on Marlboro Pike, Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The 1800 number listed has sense been cut off by the scammers. This particular scam took place on today March 29, 2019 between 10:21am and 10:58am
